Fitzpatrick is currently working as the Managing Editor and Evening Anchor for the CBS/ABC/CW affiliates in. She joined WWAY back in August 2016. She soloes and co-anchors the 5,6,7:30 & 11 pm newscasts every night. As a managing editor, she manages the evening and nightly newscast making sure that the reporters have approved packages. She also finds and selects content for the shows, manages the nightly newscast reporter and producers, and lastly she approves rundowns, content, and stories for reporters and newscasters.
Before joining WWAY, she worked as a morning Reporter for WCSC-TV Live 5 News in Charleston, South Carolina Area. Some of her responsibilities as a news reporter was, delivering multiple live reports for the 2-hr morning show, posting stories on the station’s website and produce weekly Educational reports. She also wrote and edited reports for Midday newscasts. She worked in this position for 2 years from 2006 to 2008.
Fitzpatrick also served as a morning reporter at WALB-TV in Albany, Georgia Area. During her one-year stay at WALB-TV, she produced a # 15 AM half-hour newscast, listened to scanners, monitored feeds, and also edited the show’s videos. She was also responsible for writing, shooting, and reporting live morning newscasts.
She also worked in Dallas, Texas as a News Anchor for KDAF-TV and Live Morning and PM news reporter for KXAS-TV. For her great work in journalism, Fitzpatrick has been nominated and awarded several awards. In 2015, she was the recipient of the DR Martin Luther King JR Community Award.
