With an estimated net worth of $8.5 million, Allyson Felix earned this as a track and field sprint athlete who competes internationally for the United States. She is nicknamed “Chicken Legs” by her track teammates in high school. She went pro after graduation when she was not able to compete for her college team and after signing a deal with Adidas. At the age of 18, she won a silver medal in the 200 meters at the 2004 Olympics behind Veronica Campbell of Jamaica. She has set a World Junior record over 200 meters with her time of 22.18.
In 2007, Felix became only the second female to win three gold medals at a single World Championship. The first female to have the record is Marita Koch of Germany in 1983. She participated in the Project Believe, a program that tests athletes’ blood chemistry to verify that they are drug-free. In 2010, she won the Jesse Owens award for the third time. The award was handed out by the US Track & Field to the association’s athlete of the year.
Felix’s specialty is the 200 meter race. In the 2012 Olympic, she won the gold, two silver medals and three world championship gold medals. She also competes at the 100 meter and the 400 meter distances where she won three Olympic gold medals as a member of the United State’s women’s relay teams, two at 4×400 meters and one as part of the world-record 4×100 meter team.
