Allie LaForce, CBS reportermany women wish to be and many men dream. Before becoming a big name in American sports television, LaForce’s beauty and intellectual qualities made her a beauty queen when she was just a teenager.
Hailing from a family rich in athletic history (both of her parents were college athletes), LaForce was raised to be an athlete. Growing up with an aunt who was a college basketball coach, LaForce easily fell in love with the game and aspired to play it until college.
However, while attending Vermilion High School, LaForce had to take a break from basketball to focus on the benefits of being crowned Miss Teen USA 2005. She had earned a spot for the crown after winning the Miss Ohio Teen title. USA 2005 in September 2004 at the premiere Trying. Amazingly, her mother, Lesa LaForce (née Rummell), was Miss Ohio USA 1977.
Her duties as a queen didn’t allow her time. LaForce had a vow to play college basketball after earning a spot on the Ohio University Bobcats women’s basketball team.
After spending a brief stint in college basketball, LaForce, at the suggestion of his mother, decided to focus his attention on his career as a sports journalist. She produced and hosted a college football coaching show for her school. Later, she freelanced for SportsTime Ohio as a secondary football and basketball reporter. LaForce who majored in broadcast journalism graduated from Magna Cum Laude in 2010.
After graduating, she was hired by Fox 8 News as a sportscaster and reporter. She started out working for Cleveland affiliate group Channel 8, WJW. After a year of hard work, she won an Emmy Award for anchoring FOX 8’s Friday Night Touchdown High School Football Game.

In 2014, LaForce got her big break when she was hired by CBS Sports where she works as a senior reporter for SEC-sponsored college football games, as well as college basketball games. LaForce also reports on the NBA for TNT.

Joe Smith, LaForce’s husband, has revealed that he has a 50% chance of inheriting Huntington’s disease from his mother, who was diagnosed in 2012. The disease is a disease that causes nerve cells to die in the brain. Smith revealed that he would be tested before deciding to have children.
