Last week, Allison Drake, 26, won the crown for the Lone Star state.
Before her alleged anti-Semitic remark surfaced, she had just won the championship.
Former pageant contestant and Jewish influencer Lizzy Savetsky expressed disappointment that the Miss Universe organization did not use the incident as a lesson moment.
Allie Drake Holocaust: What did Miss Texas Allison Drake say?
Just days after being crowned, the new Miss Texas USA has drawn criticism for reportedly making an anti-Semitic remark.
When the statement reappeared online, some activists began to wonder why she had not received any punishment and why the group had not taken any action.
After R’Bonney Gabriel, the previous winner earned the Miss Universe crown in January, Allison Drake, 26, took over as the new title holder last week. The first runner-up declined the role, according to organization officials, leaving Allie as the next in line.
Lizzy Savetsky, a Jewish influencer, exposed Drake for reportedly making an offensive joke about the Holocaust to a fellow contender in a video she shared with her almost 225,000 followers. Drake, however, would only last a single day as the new Miss Texas before facing this criticism.
A rival participant posted the comment to Instagram with the following message:’@alliejdrake gives me the best compliment. ‘You look like Anne Frank coming out of the Holocaust,’ Lmaooo. Proud of you.’
Savetsky argued that the remark was an irresponsible use of the contestant’s and the organization’s platform.
