Allan Border Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Allan Robert Border AO (born July 27, 1955) is a former Australian cricketer who played for the Queensland Reds. Border, a batsman, served as the captain of the Australian side for a number of years. “A.B.” was his nickname on the playing field. In his Test career, he appeared in 156 games, a record that stood until it was surpassed by fellow Australian Steve Waugh. Border still holds the world record for the most consecutive Test appearances, at 153, as well as the most consecutive Test appearances as captain. He was mainly a left-handed batter, but he also had some success as a part-time left-arm orthodox spinner in his younger years. Border collected 11,174 Test runs throughout his career (a world record until it was passed by Brian Lara in 2005).

During his Test career, he amassed a total of 27 hundreds. He retired as the most capped player in Australia’s history and the top run-scorer in both Tests and One-Day Internationals. Ricky Ponting broke his 15-year-old Australian record for Test Match runs during the Third Ashes Test against England in July 2009, and he now holds the record. Border was one of the 55 initial entrants into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Hall of Fame.
