Her daughter, Heather Tate Williams, and son, Butch Smith, as well as Randolph County Sheriff Kevin Bell and state Sen. Gary Stubblefield, R-Branch, will be interviewed for the episode where reporter Dennis Murphy finds out the details of the murder in the investigation which led to the killer.

Linda Collins had recently divorced her husband, Philip Smith, when she was found dead at her home. Her husband, a former Arkansas circuit court judge, had accused her of hiding money and not depositing the $52k tax rebate check during their divorce procedure. 

At the same time, he was not clean as well because David J. Sachar filed a complaint against him, claiming that some of the court’s property was missing. Smith accepted his mistake and agreed that he would be ineligible to continue the service. 

Since the murder of his ex-wife, he has not appeared in the media. He keeps his life private, and there is no additional information on his whereabouts, but some sources claim that he has a new wife. 

Likewise, when the incident took place, Linda was not only recovering from divorce but also from a turbulent state Senate campaign in which she lost the primary election, leaving some dissatisfied people with a couple of possible murder motives.

However, her family could not have predicted that someone would do such a heinous act against her, although there will be people who may have resented her.

According to People.com, the unexpected and strange death of Linda Collins stunned the country. The ex-politician was discovered dead with stab wounds outside her Pocahontas home on June 4, 2019. The incident happened only months after her leaving office as an Arkansas state senator.

The shocking way in which Collins was discovered was almost as disturbing as the murder itself. Butch, the 57-year-old son, had paid a visit to her house with his grandfather to check on her health. He noticed a tarp held down by a block in her driveway. 

He discovered her body in a terrible state that he claims made his stomach feel gross and vomit.

Linda Collins story is to be featured on Dateline today. After finding her dead body in a horrifying state, the investigators quickly started their investigation and found their suspects. 

After two weeks, they arrested the victim’s best friend, Rebecca Lynn O’Donnell, who allegedly killed her to cover up her financial crime against that victim.
