Alix Bailey was born on February 3, 1967 in Washington, United States. Her parents, Sandra Stone and William Bailey, were both painters and raised her with her brother Ford in New Haven, Connecticut and Italy.
Surrounded by painters, Alix Bailey developed a love for the profession from an early age and growing up, her father embraced her style of painting. After completing her high school education, Bailey attended Bennington College, where she studied painting. She graduated from Indiana University with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts.
Alix Bailey married Louis CK in 1995. However, they divorced in 2008, 13 years after their marriage, citing an inability to make themselves happy as the main reason for the split. Meanwhile, the former couple have two daughters, Kitty Szekely born in 2002 and Mary Louise Szekely born in 2005.

Alix met Louis in Boston at a New Year’s Eve party. Louis had gotten extremely drunk at the event and made a ridiculous proposal to Alix just five minutes after he first saw her. The latter only laughed at him to despise him. But they finally met again fifteen years later through a mutual friend, and CK proposed to her again without hesitation. This time she said yes.
