Alicja Tysiąc was a Polish social activist who fought for women’s rights to legal and safe abortion, as per her Wikipedia.
She was a pregnant woman diagnosed with a critical eye illness and attempted to get an abortion to prevent the disease from worsening.
Several medical doctors turned down her requests, and she went into labor with her third child.

Her illness worsened subsequently, and she filed a lawsuit against one of the physicians.
Her criminal charges got dismissed in Poland, and the matter later was taken to the European Court of Human Rights, which approved one element of the claim and granted damages to the plaintiff.

Reportedly, Tysiąc was fighting for her life in Warsaw Hospital for many days. After suffering for several days, she got confirmed to be Covid-19 positive after her demise.
Similarly, she had a vision problem since her birth and was diagnosed with a disease named Myopia.
Following her two pregnancies, her vision disability was even worse, and she got compelled to wear spectacles with minus 24 diopter power.

Alicja Tysiąc had three children with her husband.
She had two children, Krystian and Patrycja, in 2000. However, both pregnancies were complicated, forcing physicians to perform a cesarean delivery twice.
In the same year, Tysiąc accidentally became pregnant again. She sought advice from three ophthalmologists after learning about the possibility of blindness after delivery.

The internist suggested an abortion due to her health condition. But, she decided to give birth to her third child, and Julia, her daughter, was born in 2001.
Alicja’s eyesight worsened considerably again a few weeks after delivery, with a hemorrhage in the right eye and macular degeneration in the left.
Later, She and her husband agreed that they would not have any more children.
