Alicia Silverstone made cameos in the 2011 film Children’s Hospital and appeared in four episodes of the 2012 television series Suburgatory, where she reconnected with her Clueless co-star Jeremy Sisto.
She made a triumphant comeback to Broadway in 2012 with the comedy The Performers, which was based on the Adult Film Awards in Las Vegas. The play had its world premiere at the Longacre Theatre in November, however owing to Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath, it was canceled after 23 previews and seven regular performances.
She filmed the TV pilot HR in 2013 but it was not picked up. She also made an appearance in the Sundance comedy Ass Backwards which was released on VOD and in a few theaters.
In 2015, Silverstone played the lead role in the New York production of the play Of Good Stock, which is about a group of brothers who get together at their home for a summer weekend. She was described as “magnetic even as an engaged narcissist, ditzy” sister by Entertainment Weekly.
She was, according to The New York Times, “the most cartoonish of the characters and a thankless part for [Silverstone], who tips into comic shrillness here,” in the play.
Silverstone portrayed a divorcing lady who quarrels with her ex-husband over custody of their cherished dog in the 2016 romantic comedy Who Gets the Dog? The movie was only available on DVD.
