Alfonzo McKinnie has excellent rebounding skills. When referring to such facet of his game, the adjective “elite” may even be used.
McKinnie averages nine rebounds a game in 36 minutes, which places him second on the Warriors behind Kevon Looney (10.2).
“He is a shaky athlete. He’s have terrific jumping ability and good length, Steve Kerr noted on 95.7 The Game on Wednesday. And, in particular on the offensive boards, “he just has a knack for the ball.”
According to Kerr, “He just so happens to be playing in a time where nobody boxes out.” “When the shot is taken — and in every game I watch on League Pass, including our own games — all eyes immediately move to the ball and follow it; no one turns or boxes out.
“Alfonzo just does a great job of finding those seams and running right past people and going up and getting rebounds, giving us extra possessions.”
