The festive special of Strictly Come Dancing returned for another year on Christmas Day. And it was Mardell and her professional partner Kai Widdrington who took home the glitterball trophy.
For the festive episode, the Coronation Street actress competed against Rosie Ramsey, Nicola Roberts, Larry Lamb, Rickie Haywood-Williams, and George Webster.
After each pair performed, the quartet of judges each assigned a performance score out of ten, combined with audience votes to give a final result. A perfect score from the judges is quite rare, but Mardell and her partner were successful.

Alexandra stated on ITV’s Lorraine that her mother is such a Coronation Street fan that she was scared Alexandra would ruin her viewing experience by joining the show.
“She was scared I was going to ruin her favorite show for her,” the actress added, “but after the first episode her mother viewed it, she was like, you haven’t spoiled the show, you are good.
Michael and Janet divorced when their daughter was young, but she managed to be close to her father. Alexandra spent alternate weekends with him.

Alexandra Was Devastated After The Loss Of Her Father
Mardell was very disheartened after the demise of her father. Her character in the series Coronation Street, Emma, was also devasted when her on-screen father passed away after a battle with stomach cancer.
Michael, a former semi-professional footballer, had never experienced any health issues until January 2016, when he acquired a persistent cough. He passed away just one month later.
The day before Michael passed away, his chest pains worsened, and he made an appointment with his doctor to figure out what was happening. “Nothing was found, and he was sent home.”
Michael passed away in 2016 because of heart disease. Alexandra ran Manchester’s Great Run to raise funds for the noble cause Cardiomyopathy UK.
