In late October, Genoa was shaken by a huge storm and Ekdal recalls it with a shine.
He says, “It was chaos, in fact, very chaos. I was locked up with my family all day long. The trees fell, there was a bridge near the water and a restaurant that was completely swept away. The road to Portofino was completely razed to the ground, the worst storm in 40-50 years. I was not afraid, but it was a bit unpleasant. Genoa has suffered many difficulties lately, so the city should be spared all this. Recovery takes place one way or another, that’s how life works. You look at it and notice it every day, but this traffic is a bad problem and people are still talking about the tragedy.
