Albert was once a top lawyer and lobbyist in the Westchester area. His career came to a halt when he was convicted in 2000 in a tax fraud case for using the money from his lobbying company to pay expenses for his personal matters such as purchasing expensive cars (one Ferrari cost him more than $120,000) and vacation packages.

At the time, his wife, Jeanine Pirro was the district attorney and she earned around $137,700 a year salary for her service.
