Mattie Denise Jackson is the first daughter of American singer and songwriter Alan Jackson and his lovely wife Denise Jackson.
Mattie was born on June 19, 1990, in Newnan, Georgia, United States.
She is a certified sommelier who took some time studying the craft in Greece as well as at the Joseph Phelps Vineyard in Napa Valley.
In an interview with Food & Wine, Mattie said that being a Nashville native made her a unicorn because no one else was from there.
Mattie married Ben Selecman who was a Lawyer in 2017.
After Mattie and Selecman tied the knot in 2017, a year her husband Ben Selecman met his untimely death on September 12, 2018, in Jupiter, Florida, United States.
According to the report, Mattie’s father Alan Jackson gathered family and friends to celebrate the Labor Day holiday under the warmth of the Florida sun. Mattie and Ben Selecman were also celebrating, as they basked in the bliss that comes in one’s first year of marriage.
“We were still in the honeymoon phase of our life,” Mattie tells PEOPLE about her late husband Ben, who she met while the two were attending the University of Tennessee. “Ben had one of the biggest personalities of anybody I’ve ever known. He was joyful and cheerful, and he was friends with everyone.”
