The Riches of Aishah Hasnie
As of mid-2020, Aishah Hasnie’s net worth is estimated at close to $500,000, earned through success in the journalism sector. Apart from her work at Fox, she’s also worked for other notable local televisions stations across the US during her career.
She’s done a lot of investigative reporting, and has also done a bit of digital work.
Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings
While Aishah was born in Pakistan, her family later migrated to the US where they settled in Bedford, Indiana where she would grow up. She stayed there for most of her youth, attending Bedford North Lawrence High School. It was during her time there that she began developing an interest in a career in broadcasting.
After matriculating from high school, her skills led her to be given a Dick Yoakam Broadcast Journalism Scholarship, one that she accepted, leading her to enroll at the nearby Indiana University, one of the larger public universities in the state with over 100,000 in attendance regularly.
While taking up her education there, she got her first work experience as a part of the Springfield-based television station WICS, for which she served briefly as an on-air reporter, gaining valuable experience; she was able to easily get into the station because her cousin was already working there as a reporter. She also briefly spent time in Pakistan, serving with GEO-TV before returning home and completing an internship at WTHR-TV.
Professional Career
After graduation, Hasnie was offered a job in Fort Wayne, hired by WANE-TV as an investigative reporter.
The station is owned by Nextar and has been on air since the 1950s, offering locally produced newscasts with two four-hour news shows daily. While she served mostly on the sidelines during this period, she filled-in as an anchor when the main anchors were not available. Her biggest story during this time was a report on voyeurism, which helped her get an Emmy Award nomination.
In 2011 she moved to Indianapolis, and joined the Fox affiliate, WXIN-TV/FOX59. The station is known for holding primary broadcasts of the Hoosier Lottery, which is the official lottery of the state. They also cover professional sports teams, and produce many more newscasts at over 62 hours in a week.
During her time there, she continued her work in various investigative projects, but also got her first regular anchor job in the show “First at Four”, and early-morning news program of the station, covering most of the major news headlines of the previous day.
Moving to Fox News
In 2019, her service in Fox59 didn’t go unnoticed as she was eventually asked to move to a position in the main station in New York City. With her acceptance, she began serving mainly as a news correspondent, while also working as the overnight anchor for around a year. She first rose to prominence as she became a correspondent for the daily news program “Fox & Friends”, currently hosted by Brian Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt and Steve Doocey.
It focuses on the main news headlines in the morning, while also having various other segments, often involving political analysis, feature stories, and a few entertainment news segments.
With her work there, she also became a part of the earlier spin-off from “Fox & Friends” called “Fox & Friends First”. The show begins airing at four in the morning for the first two hours, leading into the main program. She was used to this work as she had already served on early morning shifts in her previous work experience. The main hosts of the show are Ainsley Earhardt and Heather Childers.
Recent Endeavors
In recent months, Hasnie like many of the residents of New York City has stopped working due to the city closing down most areas following a massive spike in coronavirus cases. The city is one of the biggest hit in the US, responsible for most cases that have elevated the country into one of the top zones that have been affected by the virus. Due to this, she has stayed mostly at home, though her position and experience has led her to become a front liner, volunteering for numerous efforts in the fight against the virus.
She is known to have worked on several charity projects in the past, recently being for River Fund New York, and New York City Food Bank, both responsible for helping distribute food to the needy, and those who’ve lost their jobs with the lockdown. She spends most of her days at home with the recommendation of government officials. She has been more active online as a result, and has been giving updates on the difference of daily life since the virus struck, including celebrating her sister’s graduation online. She still keeps up with the latest news in the country, and posts regularly on Twitter as most journalists do.
Personal Life
Aishah is single and does not talk a lot about any past or present romantic relationships. Even though she’s spent nearly all of her life in the US, she remains closely connected to her Pakistani roots. She is a Muslim like her parents, and practices various religious occasions such as Ramadan. She is also a big fan of world history, and it’s one of her favorite subjects. During her youth, she considered a career in modeling but eventually moved away from it. She also loves traveling during her free time, having visited several European countries. She has admitted that she misses traveling, because of the current restrictions around the world due to the coronavirus.
