Beyond an actress, Dilan Gwyn grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. She was born on June 4, 1994, to Orhan Kotan, a Kurdish poet, journalist and writer. She belongs to white ethnicity while her nationality is Swedish.
Dilan was brought up with her older sisterswhose names are not known to the public. She had and completed her high school education in Sweden and later moved to study film at Stockholm University, from where she went to Sorbonne University in Paris to study French. From Paris, Gwyn moved to London, where she lived and worked for a time.
In order to pursue her childhood dream, the Swedish-born star moved to the United States, where she joined the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She had her freshman year at the Los Angeles campus before moving to the New York University campus for her sophomore year.
