Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Afghan Visa.
- Your Rwandan passport must have a validity of at least 6 months and one blank space for visa stamp.
- Duly completed visa application form which has been signed and stamped where necessary.
- Two recent 2×2 inches passport-size photographs taken on a white background.
- For minors, their original birth certificates and a letter of consent signed by both parents is required.
- Valid medical insurance to cover duration of stay.
- Proof of accommodation for the duration of your stay in Afghanistan. This could be an invitation letter or hotel reservation.
- The letter of invitation should be accompanied with the valid means of identification of your host.
- Documentation proving status in Rwanda either as an employee, student or business owner.
- Round trip tickets and a photocopy of your detailed travel itinerary for duration of trip.
- A letter from a doctor in Rwanda affirming good health conditions.
- A letter from a travel agency confirming purpose of trip might be necessary.
- You’ll be required to submit a personal letter to the Embassy of Afghanistan detailing the trip’s purpose, duration and travel dates.
- This visa is valid for 90 days and is usually processed in 10 working days.
- The visa costs $160 and allows a maximum stay of 30 days.
- A visa is not required if you were born in Afghanistan or to Afghanistan parents.

Facts about Afghanistan
Afghanistan is part of Asia with largest city and Capital being Kabul. Babur Gardens which is considered ‘the loveliest spot’ in Kabul, Afghanistan is the most popular destination in Afghanistan. The garden is a site for recreation and relaxation. Tourists also troop into the National Museum of Afghanistan and the Kabul Zoo. The zoo has about 280 animals.
Even though Afghanistan has a lot to offer especially to the brave tourists, it’s an extremely dangerous country to visit due to it being a war zone. Terrorism is a huge problem with the government forces fighting against Taliban insurgents.
Travel to Kabul is strongly advised against due to it being a lethal war zone. Despite the turmoil in Afghanistan, the country manages to pull in a reasonable number of tourists annually. On average, about 20,000 tourists visit the country.
Tourists should avoid trying to preach to or convert Muslims to other faiths, it is highly forbidden and regarded as a crime. Use and possession of narcotics, alcohol and pork products is a violation of the Afghan laws and orders. Homosexuality is also illegal in the country.

Afghanistan Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- The tourist visa is for Rwandans who intend to travel to Afghanistan for visiting natural beauties and historic places.
- Please be aware that employment is not permitted with a tourist visa.
- You’re also not allowed to partake in business activities while in Afghanistan.
- The passport used in this application should be valid for at least 6 months and have a blank page for visa.
- Tourist visa can be extended only once by the Ministry of Interior Affairs upon the approval of the Afghan Tourism Department.
- If you are visiting a friend or relative, you’ll need an invitation letter from your host in the country.
- A letter of introduction detailing the purpose of your trip and places you intend to visit will be required from you.
- You’ll not need a visa if you were born in Afghanistan or your parents are of Afghanistan descent.
- Proof of family ties that show that you have an incentive to return to South Africa is required for this visa type.
- Full round trip reservation is required to avoid overstaying in Afghanistan.
- Proof of accommodation in the country is necessary. This could be in the form of a hotel reservation or a confirmation that you’ll be accommodated by your host in Afghanistan.
- This visa costs $160 and is usually processed in 10 working days.
- The visa allows a stay of up to 30 days and is valid for 90 days.
Afghanistan Transit Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- The transit visa allows Rwandans to pass through Afghanistan via road or air.
- This visa will only allow you stay in Afghanistan for 3 days if travelling by air and 6 days if by road.
- The visa and complete document of your destination country is required for this visa application.
- You are not allowed to work or enroll into a university with this visa.
- Proof of good health condition is required.
- Original birth certificate of minors will be important when applying for this type of visa.
- Your passport must have at least 1 blank page for visa.
- Two recent photographs that meet the visa application requirements is necessary.
- This visa is valid for 1 month and allows a double entry.
- This visa costs $80 for singe entry & $150 for double entry. It takes 10 days to process.
Afghanistan Work Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- The work visa is for skilled applicants who have been employed in Afghanistan or are looking for employment.
- A duly completed visa application form is required.
- One recent passport sized photograph that meets the visa application requirements should be provided.
- You’ll be required to provide educational documents while applying for this visa.
- An invitation or introduction letter from the employer company in Afghanistan is needed to complete this application. This letter should include purpose and duration of travel.
- If the inviting organization will be sponsoring your stay in Afghanistan, you’re required to provide a letter that affirms that.
- A confirmation letter from Consular Affairs Directorate-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the I.R. of Afghanistan is important as well.
- This visa is for applicants not older than 65 years.
- The visa costs $100 for single entry and is valid for a period of one month. This visa can be extended for one year at a $50 per month rate. The extension is to be processed through the Ministry of Interior.
- Extension of the work visa is permitted based on the request of the inviting organization.
Afghanistan Business Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- The Business visa is issued to Rwandans who visit the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the purpose of business, investment, marketing, commercial transactions and handling corporate affairs.
- Your visa application form must be completely filled.
- A recent passport sized photograph will be needed to complete this application.
- A letter of invitation from the relevant organization in Afghanistan detailing travel itinerary, purpose and duration of trip must be provided. This letter should be on the inviting company’s letterhead.
- You might be required to provide a certificate of good behavior from Rwandan police.
- Any relevant document that describes your intentions of doing business in Afghanistan is important.
- Business visas can be issued for single or multiple entries for a period of 3 months to one year.
- The duration of stay in Afghanistan for these visa per visit is capped to 30 days for a 3 months single entry visa, 60 days for a 6 months multiple entry visa and 180 days for a 1 year multiple entry visa.
