Adrian Wojnarowski Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Adrian Wojnarowski (/wrdnraski/ WURJ-n-ROW-skee) is a Polish-American sports writer and author who writes NBA articles for Yahoo! Sports on a regular basis. He graduated from Bristol Central High School in Bristol, Connecticut in 1987 and St. Bonaventure University in 1991. Wojnarowski started working for the Hartford Courant while he was a senior in high school and continued throughout his college vacations. After graduating from college, he worked for a few smaller publications until joining the Fresno Bee as a writer in 1995.

He began working at The Record in New Jersey in 1997. The Associated Press Sports Editors awarded him “Columnist of the Year” in 1997 and 2002 for his work with The Record. He also contributed to ESPN.com on a regular basis throughout this period. He wrote The Miracle of St. Anthony: A Season with Coach Bob Hurley and Basketball’s Most Improbable Dynasty, which was a New York Times best-seller in 2006. He departed The Record in 2007 to work full-time for Yahoo! Sports.

While at Yahoo! Sports, Wojnarowski assisted in the breaking of many big national stories. He and Dan Wetzel co-wrote an article in March 2009 linking the Connecticut Huskies men’s basketball team to a slew of recruiting infractions. According to the New York Post, Wojnarowski was sued by the Penguin Group in 2010 for missing a book deadline on coach Jim Valvano’s life. Wojnarowski replied that the issue was the result of “miscommunication between my agency and myself,” and that he would be returning the money to Penguin Books.

Wojnarowski is generally regarded as the greatest NBA “scooper” in the industry, especially during the NBA Draft, when he calls the selections on his Twitter account ahead of time. However, media opponents have chastised Wojnarowski for his reporting on NBA star LeBron James, accusing him of being biassed and depending on anonymous sources. As a consequence of the criticism, he was named #1 in Sports Media Watch’s Worst of Sports Media 2010. “We aren’t negotiating TV agreements with LeBron; we aren’t trying to be his friend; we’re covering him,” Wojnarowski said of some of his James coverage.
