Later on, Adeline’s condition worsened. Fagan’s lips turned blue and she lacked oxygen. Additionally, Adeline was diagnosed with other respiratory diseases.
On August 4, 2020, Fagan was put on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO). On September 20, 2020, Adeline was reported dead and her father confirmed the news saying:
