Born in Westhampton, Massachusetts, he attended the Hampshire Regional High School and got a degree in audio engineering, production and bass guitar from the Berklee College in Boston. While in college, Adam started playing with the band “Aftershock” with his pal Joel Stroetzel. Later, they joined hands with Jesse Leach and Mike D’Antonio to form “Killswitch Engage”. Till the release of the second album in 2009, he used to hold the position of drummer in the band. However Adam soon switched to the guitars when Tom Gomes joined as the band’s drummer. He has turned producer for the third album that the band will cut. Aside from that, he has been a producer for bands like Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, The Agony Scene and some others. He has made his fortune by juggling the hats of producer and musician. However, these are not the only streams he juggles.
Adam Dutkiewicz works as an engineer for the Zing Recording Studios that has been the producer for various artists like Tooth and Nail records and also Solid State Records, which is the heavy metal’s sub division. He has been compared to Ross Robinson, who has been the producer for many new metal bands and has given structure to melodic metals.
