See Alan Shearer for more information on the Newcastle United manager. Al Shearer (born August 14, 1977) is an American actor who has been in a number of films. He starred as Nevil Shed in the 2006 Disney blockbuster Glory Road (film), which was directed by Jerry Bruckheimer and produced by Disney. Shearer is perhaps best known for his position as “Punk” on the MTV series Punk’d, or as “Hits” – the presenter of the once-popular BET series Hits from the Street – although he has a broader range of credits. Shearer was born in the Ohio city of Columbus. ‘Game Room’ was the name of the programme on which Hits started his little television career as the host of a show on BET. Later, as the Washington, DC reporter for the award-winning adolescent programme Teen Summit, he polished his abilities in front of the camera. The following year, he was hired to anchor a morning hip-hop programme on WPGC-FM/AM (CBS Radio) in Washington, District of Columbia. However, it is his ‘you so crazy’ demeanour that attracts attention to his extremely honest, yet humorous, character, which he displays effortlessly both on and off screen. Hits was also used in a Reebok commercial featuring Steve Francis, who was named NBA rookie of the year in the year 2000. Hits graduated from Howard University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and now lives in the Los Angeles, California region. He is now the host of the BET prank programme “Played By Fame,” which airs on Saturday nights. He is also married to Niresha Kalaichelvam, who is a model and actress.
