Milad Rouf is 25 years old. On the 20th of May, he attacked Dr. Rym Alaoui when she answered the door to her home in Steine Gardens, Brighton.
According to Lewes Crown Court, the attack occurred six weeks after Alaoui had broken up with him. The woman, who is assumed to be in her twenties, has life-altering injuries.
When Rouf knocked on Alaoui’s door, he was dressed in a padded “fat suit,” sunglasses, and a visor. He then handed her a message that appeared to be threatening to one of her former flatmates.
He flung the acid over her and rushed away as she bent down to read it.
Since the attack, Dr. Alaoui has undergone five major surgery. She still can’t see out of one eye, and her eyelid, as well as the skin on her face, chest, neck, and arm, has been damaged.
The culprit’s motivation was discovered to be mere jealousy and rejection.
