Kam Chancellor was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1988 where he played high school football and basketball at Matthew Fontaine Maury High School. Kam Chancellor played quarterback and safety in high school and as a senior had more than 2,000 passing and 500 rushing yards during his team’s 10-2 season. Kam Chancellor played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies where he played cornerback as a freshman before being moved to free safety as a sophomore. In the 2008 season, Kam Chancellor started in all 14 games and had 52 tackles, two interceptions, five passes broken up, seven pass deflections, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Kam Chancellor was the third-ranked of the 126 free safeties entering the 2010 NFL Draft. Kam Chancellor was selected with the 133rd overall pick in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
