The House of Kawnanakoa was headed by Abigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kawnanakoa, also known as Kekau. Even though she had no official title or position in the Hawaiian state government, she was frequently referred to as a princess, an epithet usually given to the offspring of titled subjects of the Kingdom of Hawai’i or significant people in Hawaiian history.

Abigail Kawananakoa Cause Of Death

The reason of death for the 96-year-old was not provided, although the Hawaii News Now website stated she had been in poor condition. According to an internet announcement, Kawananakoa died quietly on Sunday night at her Nu’uanu home, with her wife Veronica by her side.

Owner of ranches in Hawaii, California, and Washington State, Kawnanakoa was a skilled rider. Kawananakoa has bred AQHA quarter horses for 20 years in total.

The 96-year-old Kawnanakoa passed away on December 11, 2022. At Iolani Palace, word of her passing was given in Hawaiian. To show respect for Kawnanakoa, Governor Josh Green ordered that all flags be flown at half-mast.
