Roy Orbison’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Roy Orbison net worth: Singer-songwriter Roy Orbison was one of the most influential artists in rock music. At the time of his death Roy Orbison had a net worth equal to $20 million dollars, after adjusting for inflation. And earned that net worth he most certainly did, bringing an unprecedented level of emotional sophistication to rock music. His career peak in the early 1960s produced still-popular hits like “Only the Lonely”, “Crying”, “In Dreams”, and “Oh, Pretty Woman.” His music was characterized by lush orchestral instrumentation and arrangements, which were previously alien to the “guitar, bass, and drums” world of rock and roll and pop music. His image during this time, of a highly emotional and sensitive storyteller, who was seen as a “recluse” or a “man of mystery,” didn’t really reflect his off-stage personality. But it did resonate with music fans of the 50s and 60s, leading Orbison to become one of the biggest stars of the period. He eventually appeared with rising stars The Beatles, and according to legend upstaged the famously raucous band even though he simply stood on the stage, playing his songs. Unfortunately for Orbison, the type of music The Beatles represented would eventually cause his career to decline before a resurgence in popularity that took place in the late 1980s. Sadly, Orbison died of a heart attack in 1988, before he was able to enjoy his newfound popularity for very long.
