The Australian television drama series Barons has released on Netflix on April 24, 2022. As the fans have watched the show, they are now curious to find where the flashy surfing scenes were filmed.

ABC Surf Drama Barons Filming Locations- Where Was The Show Filmed?

If you have seen those scenes of surfing from ABC’s newest drama, Barons, you may wonder about the filming locations. While the Tv series was first intended to shoot in Bali, Indonesia, the crew could not carry out the plan because of the pandemic. 

Thus, they decided to go on with their shoots in Australia. However, although they had a location to shoot, they faced problems because of the pandemic and restrictions that were implemented for everyone. 

The locals had argued that shooting should not be classified as essential work. And, despite the problems, they managed to continue their production. The crew began production in the second quarter of 2021 and completed the project before the end of the year despite the problem of traveling because of restrictions.

As mentioned by The Focus, they had to reconsider the situation and plan on how and where surfing scenes were shot. Thus, they decided to film in and around Byron Bay.

Byron Bay is a seaside town in the Australian state of New South Wales, located in the southeast. The area is a renowned vacation spot known for its excellent surfing beaches. 

In addition, the director said that most of the scenes were shot on Sydney’s northern beaches while adding extra clips from Byron Bay. Therefore, the scenes were primarily shot in Palm Beach, Warriewood, and Collaroy. 

Who Are The Cast In Barons?

There are 19 casts in the drama Barons. According to Wikipedia, the story is set in the 1970s. It follows two surfers who become bitter rivals as they build multibillion-dollar businesses while winning and losing money in the process. The tale of the pioneers of the Billabong and Quiksilver surf labels is paralleled in this series.
