Then in 2016, Abbas moved to Portland, US. His settlement in the US was made possible with the assistance of an American teacher and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Similarly, in 2019, he moved to Florida.
Talking about his nationality, he is Afghanistan-born but currently lives in the US.
Speaking briefly about his career, he began as a kickboxer but later switched to swimming. While in Afghanistan, he won his first-ever national tournament. Likewise, he also competed during his stay in Turkey and won two national championships.

About his parents, Abbas hasn’t revealed their identities. However, we know that they are of Hazara descent.
Sadly, his father met his demise in 2019. Before his father’s passing, he had said that Abbas was the only child who had put his name at the top of the world.
