Aaren’s sudden death in August 1979 was received with shock. More so, it happened only five months after her parents were divorced. Although she is known for her father’s fame, Aaren Simpson never got the chance to make her own name, as it were. This article pieces together her bio, cause of death and other interesting facts about this adorable Daddy’s girl we still miss to this day.

Aaren Simpson’s Bio

Aaren Lashone Simpson was born in California, USA, on September 24, 1977, to parents Orenthal James Simpson and Marguerite L. Whitley. Her father, O. J. Simpson is a retired American football running back, actor, advertising spokesman and broadcaster who was linked to and convicted for the murder of his second wife; Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman back in 1994. Her mother, Whitley, worked as a house maker.

As the youngest of three children, Aaren and her two older siblings, Arnelle (b. December 4, 1968) and Jason (b. April 21, 1970) and were raised in California. According to sources, Aaren received the special care and love befitting of a last born. Growing up she was a pretty active and adventurous kid who would try everything she’s seen her older siblings do. It was on one of these occasions that she wasn’t so lucky.

Although that’s just about what we have on her short early life, it’s, however, known that Aaren Simpson and her siblings had quite a luxurious upbringing; galvanized by their father’s fame and fortune. Plus, they must’ve had continual encounters with fans and paparazzi who often crowded their home front to get a peek of the celebrity family. But there was turmoil brewing for the Simpsons. Her father, Simpson, was only 19 when he married Whitley on June 24, 1967. Theirs was not an all-peaceful home per se; owing to bouts of quarrels her parents used to have until they were finally divorced in 1979.

Simpson went on to marry Nicole Brown Simpson in 1985. And in the same year, they both welcomed their first child, Sydney. In 1988, they welcomed their second child, Justin. But things got a bit sour due to Simpson’s flirtatious lifestyle and abusive attitude to his wife. This led Nicole to file for divorce in 1992. However, she, alongside her friend, Ron Goldman, was later found dead outside her Los Angeles home, on June 13, 1994. An autopsy later revealed that Nicole had been stabbed in the neck and scalp seven times with a 140 mm-long gash across her throat.

Aaren Simpson’s father was later charged to court for her murder but was found not guilty. However, he was arrested in 2007 and was given a reduced thirty-three-year sentence, for kidnapping and armed robbery in Las Vegas. He has since been released on parole in 2017. While the rest of his children have had to live with the torturous stigma of having a convicted father, Aaren may never get to know such feelings. Hers was a short life that can only be remembered in figments today. But how did she die?

Cause Of Death

26th of August, 1979 was much of a usual Sunday. But it would be a black Sunday for the Simpsons. A few days before that Sunday, little Aaren Simpson—alone at the time—fell into the family swimming pool where she was later found unconscious. When paramedics were called in, they managed to revive her after performing CPR. Aaren was then rushed to the University of California (UCLA) Medical Center in Los Angeles where she was put on life support. However, Aaren remained in a coma for a few more days before dying of respiratory failure. Her death became the bane of the now dysfunctional family. Today, as grown-ups, Aaren’s siblings speak about her with deep emotions. She was the dear little sister they’ll forever miss.
