ABSTRACT
This research presents the results of the effects of retirement on the socio economic lifestyle of retired civil servant. The population for the study consists of 100 people which were randomly selected, Data were gathered using a self -constructed questionnaire and the result gotten was analyzed using the simple percentage method. The validity and reliability of instrument were ascertained. Data analyzed from the research shows that most of the sampled retirees did not prepare for their retirement life and retirement has positive relationship with their post retirement life. Based on the findings the study recommends that Policies and regulations on retirement benefits should be reviewed towards an annual adjustment of on pension for indexation of benefits in accordance to the change of cost of living as far as inflation is concern.
