A Look Into Guy and Ralna’s Divorce, What Exactly Happened?

Singers Guy and Ralna divorced after realizing they couldn’t live together as a married couple.

Guy and Ralna are a singing duo from the United States who appeared on The Lawrence Welk Show from 1970 to 1982.

Among their many albums, “Hymes We Love To Sing” was shortlisted for a Dove Award in 1972. Country Songs’ “We Love to Sing,” released in 1973, also reached No. 21 on the Billboard Country Albums list. Their fame soared in the 1970s when they had their fan club and made multiple appearances on various television shows and advertisements.

Other well-known songs by them include “Give Me That Old Time,” “Listen To My Smile,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Orange Blossom Special,” and many others.

Moreover, Guy and Ralna have also been connected in their personal lives. They got married at the beginning of 1969. However, after several years of their union, notably in 1984, their marriage ended with a mutual divorce.

Guy and Ralna and Their Amicable Divorce

Guy and Ralna were deeply in love and determined to be together forever before getting divorced.

However, after being married on January 25, 1969, their relationship started to go down.

According to Ralna, the pair didn’t have enough affection for one another. They took their time deciding to split formally, though. Guy and Ralna split up and began living apart in 1978.

Guy and Ralna maintained their musical careers after being divorced, but not together and instead as solo performers.

While questioned about her relationship with Guy after many years apart, Ralna replied that while they couldn’t last as a married couple, their chemistry when singing together is undeniable.

She also revealed that they were so in sync with one another on stage, but although they performed love songs and ate supper together on stage, after that, they would return to their separate lives.

Guy also expressed that their connection lasted for more than 50 years and was generally good. It was partially due to the combination of their voices and the fact that they had always harmonized extremely well.

Guy and Ralna have a strong connection, he added, not only because of their professional jobs but also because of their daughter.

Guy and Ralna have a Daughter Together

Guy and Ralna’s daughter is Julie Hovis, and she was first introduced to the public on The Welk Show’s New Year’s Eve show in 1977.

Later, she and her parents would be seen on camera for a number of the yearly Christmas programs. Time went by, and Julie successfully earned her degree from Arizona State University after becoming a fully-fledged adult and going on to work as an elementary school teacher in the Phoenix public school system.

On November 3, 2017, Ralna wished her daughter Julie a happy 40th birthday and shared a few photos of her with the family reunion on Facebook.

Now Julie is a married woman, but the insight regarding her married life is not clear. Her parents are immensely proud of her for her work, education, and many other accomplishments.

Are Guy and Ralna Married To Other People Now?

After divorcing in 1984, Ralna remained single while Guy remarried.

Nearly 20 years later, on February 16, 2002, at Monmouth Plantation in Natchez, Mississippi, Guy wed Sarah Lundy Moorehead in a formal ceremony.

Guy and Sis first connected during her brother John’s wedding ten years ago during their engagement and later reconnected at John’s 40th birthday celebration. Guy and Sis were accompanied by John Lundy and his wife, Hayley, as they exchanged vows.

After getting married, the pair went on a quick honeymoon to New York City, where they attended a few performances. They stopped at Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on their route back to Mississippi to attend Guy’s niece Heather’s wedding.

After that, Guy performed as often as he could while serving as state director for Senator Trent Lott of the United States.

Sis, who was reared in the Mississippi Delta and was born there, has had a remarkable career in nursing administration. She also served as the director of preoperative services at Jackson, Mississippi’s Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.

Likewise, Sis is also the mother of two adult children, a son, and a daughter, as well being a grandmother of two. In addition, Sis and Ralna appeared to have a friendly connection. They may be seen posing for pictures together at family gatherings, and even when celebrating Julie’s 40th birthday, they were spotted together.
