Nicholas Suzuki, also known as Nick, is a professional athlete in the National Hockey League (NHL) and is currently the captain of the Montreal Canadiens. He is the youngest one in the club’s history.
The head coach Martin St-Louis revealed the news regarding his captainship on 12 September during the annual golf tournament played within the team at the Laval-sur-le-Lac club. At the same event, Nick also stated that he was privileged and excited to represent the team as the captain.
He was the 13th overall pick by the Vegas Golden Knight in the 2017 NHL Entry draft. While Suzuki was a junior hockey player for Owen Sound, he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens on 10 September 2018. However, he made his professional debut on 4 October 2019.
Additionally, he was an opening night rooster for the Canadiens in the 2019-20 season. Besides playing for the club, he represented his country and participated in Team Canda during the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in 2016.
He was also on the 55-man list for the Canadian men’s hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Also, he won silver during the World Juinor Championships in 2021 and gold in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2018.
Nick Suzuki’s Parents Are His Father Rob & Mother Amanda
The captain of the Canadiens, Nick was born to his parents on 10 August 1999 in London, a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada. His father is Rod, and his mother is Amanda, who is seen cheering for him time and again, sitting on the seat.
