Investigators discovered Jasmine Hartin, 32, pacing on a pier covered with blood outside the five-bedroom apartment, just after midnight in May 2021.
In 2014, Hartin moved to Belize and immediately made a mark on the social scene. Her life was revolutionized a year later when she was dating Andrew Ashcroft.

On 22 May 2021, Hartin claims she was at a party about 70 miles from her house when a man allegedly followed her into a room and became aggressively physical with her.

Near the lavish beachfront mansion she shared with her partner Andrew Ashcroft, the son of a British millionaire, first responders discovered her after midnight, covered in blood on a deserted pier.
Hartin states that after shoving the man away, she phoned Henry Jemmott, her “protector.” Hartin claims that Jemmott traveled an hour to pick her up and advised her to get a rifle for future protection.
She claims that Jemmott even allowed her to “get a feel” for his Glock 17 before showing it to her.
The police superintendent had been shot and was drifting in the Caribbean Sea just off the dock.
According to Cherisse Halsall, a CBS News consultant and reporter for Belize Channel 7, Hartin initially informed officials that Jemmott had been murdered by an unknown person.

Jasmine Hartin Trial & Belize Prison
Jasmine Hartin was charged with recklessly causing death and ultimately released on bail.
The family of Henry Jemmott is convinced that something considerably more nefarious caused his passing.
According to CBS news, Hartin admitted to accidentally firing the deadly shot during a consultation with a lawyer while in custody.
Hartin and Jemmott had a private meeting as a full moon rose over the hot Caribbean night.
She claims that when they decided to descend and sit on the pier, they were enjoying whiskey on Jemmott’s seaside balcony while taking in the stars.
A trial date has not been scheduled, and Belizean detectives have not made forensics and other papers in the case against Jasmine Hartin publicly available.
Hartin might receive a sentence of up to five years in prison for negligent manslaughter in Belize, but she could alternatively receive only a fine.

What Happened To Jasmine Hartin Kids?
The SAN PEDRO SUN reported, that Jasmine Hartin’s twin kids’ legal custody has been given to her former partner, Andrew Ashcroft, on 25 May 2022. The hearing was held at Belize City’s Family Court.
Even though Hartin wasn’t present, her attorney has already asked the Supreme Court to overturn the decision due to claimed bias.
A source close to Hartin claimed that neither she nor the lawyer had received an invitation or been made aware of the court session.
Reportedly, Hartin and her counsel asked that Dale Cayetano, the director of Family Court, withdraw himself from the case in light of the most recent charges.
Cayetano continued to preside over the case despite this not occurring. This most recent decision denies Hartin visiting privileges, and her attorney alleges judgmental bias.
