NFL Alternate Logos

NFL draft alternate logos were designed by NFL’s creative department. The innovative take on the emblems was part of the 2023 Draft.

The exhibits were neatly done and presented a fresher look to the teams’ figures.

Over the years, all the teams have introduced alternative emblems. Tennessee Titans came up with four trademarks in 1999.

All were different because of their coloring and conceptualization. One common thing in all those badges was including the word ‘T,’ their signature.

Likewise, Atlanta Falcons have launched three of those. The first lasted from 1998 to 2002, while the second was used from 2003 to 2019.

The latest was initiated in 2020. The familiar symbol of the falcon remained on every label.

New Orleans Saints introduced one of the oldest substitute crests in 1967. After that, they put forward such crests in 1976, 1985, 2000, 2006, and 2009. The fleur-de-lis and golden hue are present in every design.

San Francisco 49ers

49ers draft logo is a realistic depiction of the team name. The man with a shiny object in his right hand was revealed while holding a pickaxe with another.

The franchise’s name is dedicated to the North Carolina diggers who arrived in San Francisco during the 1849 Gold Rush. The number 49 is taken from there and with the addition of ‘er,’ they are famously known as the 49ers.

Representation of the prospector is done well. The red tone provides an excellent balance to the grey-golden hat and the beard and long-hair look.

It is very different from the primary emblem, with ‘S’ overlapping ‘F’ with a red background and rims of gold and black in an oval shape.

The current trademark was redesigned in 2009. It applied a brighter red than its predecessor, which was used from 1996 to 2008.

Before that, the one used from 1968 to 1995 had the same design but lacked the golden rim. Out of all, the very first seal was unique. It had a cowboy posed in a revolver shot in a red shirt and checkered pants. It was the identity of the franchise from 1946 to 1967.

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys draft logo consists of a cowboy with his hat and scarf. The star on the chest and the rope on the shoulder is good detailing.

The design maintains the blue hue from their primary seal. The original one has a blue star within a star. There are only two colors, blue and white.

The initial crest was made in 1960 by Tex Schramm, and he distributed it over 100,00 stamped calendars, reports The New York Times. It was a solid start colored in blue, a simple yet bold design.

In 1964, Tom Landry added a white border for more depth. Since then, it has been a symbol of the Cowboys. It is known as ‘The Double Star.’

Las Vegas Raiders

Raiders draft logo preserved the cutlass and raider with a football helmet. Instead of happy, it presented him with an angry expression.

The modern design consists of a raider in a football helmet with a right eyepatch. He has cutlasses behind him in a black shield-shaped form with a thin black border.

The word ‘RAIDERS’ is placed right above the raider. It has been used since 2020.

In 1960, they played under the name Oakland Raiders. The seal was the same raider and cutlass. But, behind the head was a golden football, and the cutlass handle also was golden.

The authentic badge made in 1920 was used till 1934. It had one ‘C’ inside another and was colored red.

In 1944, they adopted the ‘CARD-PITT’ lettering. Likewise, a significant alteration was seen in 1947 when they designed a cardinal sitting on a football. It was kept till 1959.

A red-muscular cardinal running with a ball made its way from 1960 to 1961. In 1970, the head of the cardinal with a yellow beak was launched.
