Annie Lennox is one of the most iconic singers in Scottish history. Lennox is best known for her work with Eurythmics.
Gifted from a young age, the singer went to the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s and studied instruments like the flute, harpsichord, and piano for over three years. Lennox’s youth was hard as she had to live on a student grant and work grueling part-time jobs to earn extra money, the stress of which led to her doubting her talents.
However, her hard work and perseverance paid off when she joined the band, The Tourists, in the late 1970s, but would gain mainstream success in the 1980s as part of the duo, Eurythmics with Dave Stewart. The band is best known for the number one hit, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).
Though Lennox never disbanded, Lennox set off on a solo career in the 1990s to much success. The singer has released six albums as a solo artist, with her most recent one coming out in 2014.

Chvrches have since become one of the most celebrated indie bands of the 2010s and were at the forefront of the indie rock/pop boom of the early-to-mid 2010s. Though they never achieved mainstream success, Chvrches, and Mayberry, remain indie darlings.
